As I have planned to add an entertaining and interesting blog to this page, I`m now going to give to you the funniest event of the week: I taught the fairy tale "Rapunzel" in year 12. The aim was to make the kids become aware of the fact that our observations are constantly changing over the years and that we read fairy tales in a different way the older we get. So the tower is no longer simply a tower but a phallic symbol. Asked what the tower might stand for a girl stuttered: "It´s standing and it`s hard." Another one shouted:"NOOOOO! That didn`t exist at that time!", leaving me entirely mystified. Dumbfounded , I asked what she was thinking of. She retorted: "A tampon, of course!"
